HILLSBORO -- Funeral services for Virgil Lighty, age 61, a former Hillsboro businessman, who died at his home in Chicago, Ill., were held in Chicago Monday afternoon, May 10. Mr. Lighty was born near Veedersburg, the son of James and Retta Neal Lighty. He resided in the Veedersburg and Hillsboro areas for many years. While in Hillsboro he operated a service station. He later moved to Chicago where he was employed as a building contractor. He is survived by his widow, 10 children and 18 grandchildren. Other survivors include: three brothers; Archie of Hillsboro and Calvin and Delbert, both of Orlando, Fla., and three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Sams and Mrs. Cora Keller, both of Veedersburg, and Mrs. Ruth Hullinger of Orlando, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Lighty and their sons, Marion Lighty and family and Estel Lighty and family of Hillsboro and a daughter of Crawfordsville attended the Chicago services.  --typed by Walt W
